How to Add a 'Leave a Deposit' Option for the Unit Listing Sales Page

Modified on Wed, 19 Mar at 10:25 PM

Step 1: Create a Deposit Product

  • Begin by logging in to your Admin Panel using your credentials.

  • Navigate to Store > Products.
  • Click Add New Product.
  • Insert a Product Name (this will be displayed to the customer), e.g., Deposit.
  • Select a Manufacturer – typically, this will be your company name. If this is the first product you have added, you can add a manufacturer by typing in a new brand name.
  • Add a Description – Explain to the customer what this product is, including any terms and conditions if applicable.
  • Click ADD Product.

Step 2: Configure SKU, Quantities, and Personalization

  • Click on SKU's, Quantities, and Personalization.
  • Click Create a Question (leave the question name blank).
  • In the Answer Box, input the following details:
    • Distributor Name: Your company name.
    • Part Number: Unique identifier (e.g., UnitSalesDeposit).
    • MSRP and Sales Price: Input the deposit amount.
  • Set Quantity, e.g., 10.
  • Click Add Answer.
  • Upload an Image for the product – this image will be shown in the cart during checkout.

Step 3: Associate Deposit Product with a Unit Inventory Item

  • Navigate to Store > Unit Inventory.
  • Click Edit on the unit you want to add the deposit option to.
  • On the General Options tab, scroll down to Associate this product with this unit.
  • Select your deposit product.
  • Under the Radial Option, select Redirect customer directly to shopping cart with product.
  • In the Purchase Button Text box, enter the text you want to display on the button, e.g., Leave a Deposit.
  • Scroll down and click Save.

Important Notes:

This process must be repeated for each unit where you want to offer a deposit option. There is no global setting for this feature.

The same deposit product can be used across multiple units if the deposit amount is the same. This means you do not need to create a new product for each unit—just associate the existing deposit product with each applicable unit.
