This guide will help you navigate through the rental section of your website, enabling you to add rental units, manage rental types, and utilize various settings to enhance the rental experience.

Setting Up Rentals



Rental Products

  • Availability: Once a unit is set up in the system and marked for rent, it will appear in the Rentals Products column.
  • Rental Setup: On the right-hand side, you can configure how these units will be rented with Rental Types.

Global Blackout Dates

Use global blackout dates to indicate periods when rentals are not available (e.g., holidays, maintenance periods).



Setting Blackout Dates:

  • Enter a start and end date for the blackout period.
  • Multiple blackout dates can be added and will appear in the list.
  • Blackout dates can be removed easily.
  • Override Note: Global blackout dates override individual rental blackout dates.


Creating and Managing Rental Types

Adding a New Rental Type

  • Add New: Click "Add New" to create a new rental type

Editing, Cloning and Deleting Rental Types



  • Editing Rental Types: You can also edit existing rental types from this screen.
  • Cloning: Clone an existing rental type to create a new one with similar settings. The cloned rental will have a "-clone" suffix, which you can rename.

  • Deleting: Remove a rental type easily using the delete option.


Configuring Rental Types



  • Title: Enter a title for the rental type, which will be visible to customers on the website.
  • Waivers: Add any required waivers for the rental type.
  • Forms: Attach any specific forms that need to be filled out during the rental process.
  • Price: Set the rental price based on the time denomination (hourly, daily, weekly, or monthly).

  • Fixed Price Option: Determine if the price is fixed regardless of rental duration or varies with the duration.
  • Minimum and Maximum Duration: Set the minimum and maximum rental periods.
  • Buffer Between Rentals: Add buffer time between rentals for tasks like cleaning or refueling.
  • Same Day Rentals: Specify if rentals cannot occur on the same day and require a day's notice.
  • Time Interval: Define time intervals for pick-up and drop-off times (e.g., every 1 hour, every 15 minutes).

Pickup and Drop-off Times



  • Set Times: Configure pick-up and drop-off times for each day of the week.

  • Closed Days: Remove days when rentals are not available.

Blackout Dates for Rental Types



  • Rental Type-Specific Blackout Dates: Set blackout dates specific to a rental type


Pricing Overrides and Discounts



  • Date Range Pricing Overrides: Increase prices during busy periods.
  • Day of the Week Pricing: Adjust prices for specific days (e.g., higher rates on weekends).


Additional Pricing Structure
Offer discounts based on the rental duration (e.g., 3% off for 5 days, 5% off for 10 days).


Additional Options



Creating Add-ons

Add-ons must be created as products first.



Adding Add-ons: Search and add add-ons to the rental type (e.g., ice bucket, security deposit).

Configuring Add-ons:
  • Price: Set the price for the add-on.
  • Category: Categorize add-ons for better organization.
  • Security Deposits: Configure refundable security deposits and decide if they will be held or charged.
  • Fixed Price Option: Determine if the add-on price is fixed or varies with the rental duration.
  • Quantity and Requirements: Track quantities and decide if the add-on is mandatory.

By following this guide, you can efficiently manage the rental section of your website, ensuring that all rental units and types are accurately represented and easily accessible to your customers. Utilize the various features and options to optimize your rental operations and enhance the user experience.
