Setting Up Rackspace Email on Android

Follow the detailed instructions below to get started with your Rackspace email setup on your Android device. 


Step 1: Open Email App

  • Locate and open the Email app on your Android device. If you don’t have an email app, you can download one from the Google Play Store.


Step 2: Add Account 

  • Tap on Add Account. If you already have an email account set up, you might need to go to Settings within the email app and select Add Account.


Step 3: Enter Email Address

  • Enter your full Rackspace email address and tap Next.


Step 4: Select Account Type

  • Select IMAP (recommended) or POP3


Step 5: Incoming Mail Server Settings

  • Username: Your full Rackspace email address
  • Password: Your Rackspace email password
  • IMAP server: secure.emailsrvr.com
  • Security type: SSL/TLS (accept all certificates)
  • Port: 993 for IMAP or 995 for POP3.


Step 6: Outgoing Mail Server Settings

  • SMTP server: secure.emailsrvr.com
  • Security type: SSL/TLS (accept all certificates)
  • Port: 465
  • Require sign-in: Ensure this option is checked
  • Username: Your full Rackspace email address
  • Password: Your Rackspace email password.


Step 7: Complete Setup

  • Tap Next. Your device will verify the settings and if everything is correct, proceed to the next step.
  • Set your account options, such as sync frequency and notifications, according to your preference. Tap Next when done.


Step 8: Name Your Account

  • Enter a name for your account (e.g., "Rackspace Email").
  • Enter your name as you want it to appear on outgoing emails.
  • Tap Done to complete the setup.


Additional Settings (if necessary)


Step 1: Access Account Settings

  • Open the Email app.
  • Go to Settings.
  • Select your Rackspace email account.


Step 2: Incoming Server Settings

  • Verify that the IMAP server is set to secure.emailsrvr.com.
  • Ensure the Port is set to 993 for IMAP or 995 for POP3.
  • Security type should be set to SSL/TLS.


Step 3: Outgoing Server Settings

  • Verify that the SMTP server is set to secure.emailsrvr.com.
  • Ensure the Port is set to 465.
  • Security type should be set to SSL/TLS.
  • Ensure Require sign-in is checked and the username and password are correct.


Step 4: Sync Settings

  • Adjust sync settings according to your preferences to ensure your emails are being synced properly.


By following these steps, your Rackspace email should be successfully set up on your Android device.
